A mountain cabin with a Japanese aesthetic is located on a rocky promontory in the hills outside Bozeman Montana. The cabin faces south, nestled against a grove of pines which provides shelter from the north wind. This location also favors a valley view to the west and a mountain view to the southwest. Peeled pine poles on concrete piers allowed minimal excavation on the rocky site and avoided disturbance to the natural landscape.
